A Naming Ceremony provides an opportunity to officially welcome, and share with family and friends, the arrival of your newest family member. These ceremonies provide an alternative to christenings, in a non-religious form.
Naming Ceremonies allow the parents the opportunity to appoint Godparents to the child. You can recognise the roles of Grandparents and/or siblings and all those who are important in the life of the child. The child will be presented with a commemorative Naming Certificate.
Family members are encouraged to participate in these ceremonies. Some examples may be the reading of poetry, lighting of candles or maybe a Wishing Box. There are many types of rituals which can be incorporated into the naming ceremony.
